No injuries in Orland Park apartment fire

ORLAND PARK, Ill. — No injuries are being reported after an apartment fire in Orland Park on Monday, Aug. 8.
The Orland Fire Protection District responded to the fire in the 9000 block of Franklin Court at around 6:30 p.m., according to a press release issued by the fire district’s spokesman.
“The homeowner was preparing food for dinner on the stove when the fire occurred,” the release stated. “Crews quickly arrived to the scene and brought the fire under control. The fire was on the second floor and smoke spread throughout the building, so other crews were tasked with removing tenants to safety.”
Minor smoke damage was reported.
