Suggs to withdraw candidacy for Tinley Park mayoral race

TINLEY PARK, Ill. — Kevin Suggs, one of two candidates running for the mayoral position in Tinley Park this April, announced his intention to exit the race in a Monday, March 15 email to his supporters.
The content of the email — which also was on his Citizens for Kevin Suggs Facebook page — listed health concerns as the reason for Suggs’ departure from the mayoral race.
“After much deliberation, I have decided to end my campaign for Mayor,” Suggs wrote. “It has been an uphill battle and a great learning experience. I have cherished the moments of meeting many residents. There is much work that needs to be done in the Village. Stay engaged to ensure that your voice is heard.
“I am stepping back to focus on my health and well-being. I have made great strides with my fight against my Stage 2 Diabetes, Cardiovascular Heart Disease, and Stage 3 Kidney Disease. The fight is not over, I am winning, but I need to channel my energy at this time for my overall well-being.”
