TINLEY PARK, Ill. – Village of Tinley Park Trustee Michael Glotz is running for mayor in April 2021.
Glotz’s formal bid for mayor was announced Saturday, Oct. 17, during the Our Tinley Party 2021 campaign launch party held at Cavallini’s in the Park, 6700 South St. in Tinley Park. At the event, Clerk Kristin A. Thirion and Trustee William Brady also announced their intention to seek re-election for their positions, and two newcomers – Dennis Mahoney and Colleen Sullivan – announced bids for trustee seats.
Glotz, who was first elected to the Village of Tinley Park Board of Trustees in 2017 as a Village trustee, said he and his fellow Our Tinley Party party members have accomplished a lot. He listed several accomplishments, such as: bringing Pete’s Fresh Market and South Street Development to town; hiring more police officers; constructing a state-of-the-art fire department; and demolishing 87,000 square feet of existing space and building a brand new 70,000 square feet of retail space.
“We have changed the course Tinley has taken over the past three years, and I’m ready to make those difficult decisions in the best interest of the citizens of Tinley Park,” Glotz said at the Oct. 17 event. “I have stepped up to lead during COVID and [am] ready to continue leading as mayor of Tinley Park.
“I have the six people standing next to me to continue the growth that we have seen and make those difficult decisions. We have lacked the true leadership that we need right now, and I’m asking for your support to make Tinley Park the best place to raise a family again.”

Glotz, who also serves as the mayor pro-tem and the board’s Public Works Committee chairman, said he was “privileged and honored” to be on a slate with his running mates.
“I believe that you and I together can make the changes needed to move onward and upward,” Glotz said.
Glotz and his wife, Kristie, have lived in Tinley Park since 1994. They have two children.
